The sun's rays had just set over the horizon. Rufioh flew a little faster towards his hive; the hive he shared with you. He sighed as he landed. The brown blood didn't know how long he could keep up this relationship. When your matespriteship started it was so exciting. Being a human you were so mysterious, so enticing. He wanted to know everything about you. Now Rufioh felt things had gotten...stale. You two had been matesprits for almost two sweeps, and the winged troll found himself wandering further and further from you.
Rufioh pushed open the door and called out, signaling that he was home. The male received no answer. This was odd. Normally you'd come from wherever, and greet him with a hug and a kiss. He looked through the living area, kitchen, even the bathroom. Finally he looked in the respite block, and his eyes widened. There were various boxes in the room, each with a different word scribbled on it. All of the pictures that had been hanging on the walls were gone, and there was a note on the bed. The grey skinned male rushed over to the paper and scanned the words.
I wanted to tell you this in person, but I was afraid you'd stop me. I'm going home. I'm sorry, but I can't take it. I can't sit here and pretend nothing's wrong. I've seen how you stare at the other trolls when we go out, but I understand. You're a free spirit, you can't be held down by someone. I knew this would happen so I prepared. Don't worry, I'll be fine. Goodbye lil' butterfly, I still love you.
Rufioh was stunned. She knew? For how long? An ocean of guilt swept over the winged troll. He never meant for any of this to happen. The thought of you gone made his bloodpusher ache. He ran out of the house and immediately took off. Rufioh knew exactly where you were and what he had to do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~At Horuss's Hive~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tears pricked at the corners of Mituna's eyes as he hugged you.
"D-do you really have to leave?" he asked.
"He's right. You are more than welcome to stay. Actually it might be a huge trigger if-ooph!" Kankri was pushed aside by Porrim.
Kurloz tapped your shoulder and you faced him. 'Did you tell Rufioh goodbye?' he signed.
"Uh, yeah..." Everyone knew why you were leaving, even though you never actually said. You received hugs from Aranea and Meulin, a sympathetic smile from Latula, and sneers from Damara and Meenah before they all left.
Horuss walked toward his hive where the portal was ready. Suddenly, you were tackled from behind. After you felt the weight disappear you rolled over, only to stare into honey brown eyes. "Wha-" "Don't leave. Please," he begged," I'm so flushed for you." He pressed his lips against yours, almost desperately. After you didn't kiss back he pulled away. The mutant troll frowned at you.
You pushed him to the ground straddling his hips, and mashed your lips together. You broke it after a few moments because of that pesky oxygen. You chuckled and smiled.
"Your just as silly as ever," you said.
"And your just as amazing babe."
You laid down next to Rufioh as he watched the stars. Inching your hand closer to his you looked at his face to check his expression. You noticed Rufioh was sitting up and staring at you. You hugged his waist and watched that beautiful flush crawl its way across his cheeks. He pulled you into his lap and just held you.
"Flushed for you too, babe."
You wouldn't have to worry about your little butterfly anymore, because he would never fly from you.
"They look pawsitively puuuuurrfect~!" squealed Meulin as she snapped pictures. Horuss frowned.
"Meulin, I think this is wrong..."
"Your right. Go ofur there and complete my OT3!"
