Laughing loudly, you wrapped your arm around Jane's shoulder and pulled her close. A heavy blush dusted her cheeks due to your antics attracting the attention of the others on the sidewalk. Pulling you down the street Jane sent a glare towards anyone who looked longer than she thought they should, unbeknownst to you.

Grinning like a ditz, you said, "Janey, I promise, there is nothing going on with me and Elizabeth! We're just lab partners, that's it!" The slightly chubbier female blushed even harder and rubbed the back of her neck.

"I know it was silly of me to ask, but I couldn't help but worry!"

"Baby girl, do you really think I'd do that to you?" you asked a frown replacing your grin and your arm dropping to your side.

Jane's baby blue eyes went wide.

"No, no no no no no! I's that Elizabeth girl I don't like, not one bit!" she answered, wagging her finger in a manner similar to a concerned mother. You smile, knowing that was her version of an apology

Upon reaching the door to her home you pulled her into a gentle hug, and placed a kiss on her forehead. The heiress deemed that insufficient and pulled you down to her height. Pressing her lips against yours, the kiss wasn't uncomfortable, but it held a hint of aggression and possessiveness in it. A loud clearing of the throat alerted you to a certain parental figure, but when you both broke apart to look at him you saw the smile he bore and knew he wasn't upset by the affectionate gesture. After saying your farewells, both father and daughter entered their home and you made your way to yours. You thought back to the earlier conversation with Jane and just chalked it up to a bit of jealousy.

That was your first mistake.

Clingy. That was a very loose term to describe Jane as of late. When she came around, everyone would scatter. She always made sure to maintain contact when you were together and texted you constantly when you weren't. You also saw less and less of Elizabeth and when ever you did manage to talk to her, your girlfriend always latched herself to your arm and began chatting about new recipes and shooting Elizabeth murderous glares. Finally fed up, you marched to Elizabeth's home to search for answers.

That was your second mistake.

Slowly you opened the door and called out to her. Your only response was intense giggling, originating from the kitchen. Popping your head in, you noticed Jane finishing the final touches on a fresh batch of cupcakes. When she looks up you notice a different look in her eyes, but you can't figure out what it is.

"Janey? What are you doing here?" you questioned.

"Oh, there were a few ingredients I needed from Lizzy," she answered slyly. "What about you? Isn't your project over?"

You gulped down a bit of nervousness before answering. "I came to talk to her about something."

"Well, why don't you try one before I go get her?" inquired Jane.

You stared at the treats. The cake was a deep red, much like red velvet, but the icing was a neon green. It looked delicious, but something told you not to touch it. 'Where's Elizabeth? Why's Jane here?' questioned your mind. However before you could even blink, you had taken a bite.

That was your third mistake.

Gagging, you spit it out into the sink, the deceptive cake tasting of iron and bitter almonds. Soon you began to feel nauseous and had difficulty breathing. Glancing at the girl, you slowly back up.

"Wha-wha...?"

"She didn't taste nearly as sweet as I thought she would. A shame really, what a waste of cyanide," she stated, pouting.

Your eyes widening you ran up the stairs, stumbling the whole way. You could hear her laughter echo throughout the house. Everything came crashing on you. She killed Elizabeth, baked her into cupcakes, and poisoned you. Your vision started to become blurry and your skull felt as if a knife were being driven into it. Running into the first room on your right, you ducked into the closet.

Trembling, you curled up deeper inside the tiny, pitch black closet, praying to any deity that you wouldn't be found You could hear her sickly sweet voice calling your name as if it were a mere game. The same voice that was once your sweet addiction has now become your bitter poison. 'How fitting,' you thought angrily. You were brought back from your thoughts as the door was nearly ripped off of its hinges. The sudden light blinded you long enough for your pursuer to grab you by the neck. Bright sky blue eyes stared back into your own.

"Oh (y/n), why did you run? I simply wanted to bake with you!" the girl said, giggling. "Do you know how badly that hurt my feelings?" Her gleeful expression contorted to one of pure rage. The pressure increased with every word your captor spoke. Tackling you to the floor, her hands were still wrapped around your neck. You clawed at Jane's hands and thrashed underneath her, but you couldn't break her vice-like grip. You could only gasp for air like a fish out of water. A single thought ran through your mind just as you began to black out.

'Why?'
I don't even know. Enjoy?
